I thought to share my favorite book today. As I write, I remember when God had me buy it without knowing much about it. I had never heard of Marguerite Porete and as I looked online for a different lady, God brought to Marguerite’s book.
When I first received it, I read a bit and put it on the shelf until Holy Spirit led me to pick it up again. It was finally “time” to read it. When I began to read her words that were beautifully put together, all I could do was sob with relieve…I felt as though this book was written for me in this place in time so that I would have words to myself…a place where God had a woman in the late 1200’s to early 1300’s write words on a page that were so miraculously similar to my heart, thoughts as she deeply moved me to the core of my being.
WORDS!!! SHE HAD WORDS TO ME….!!! I wanted to scream out loud at the emotions I felt.. I couldn’t read much more than a page or two at first because I would become so overwhelmed that all I could do was cry deeply in the biggest sobs…
Why would such a book bless me so? Well, it speaks of Love and the depths of our souls (as we are ONE IN JESUS and ONE WITH GOD in the family of God). What does surrendering our will look like? Are there words for this? What is the outcome? What desperation do you feel to become ONE with HIM, the Lover of your soul?
Have you ever wanted to know what happens within a soul as you surrender EVERYTHING?
Have you ever wondered what makes radical Jesus Lovers TICK?
Or have you ever wondered WHY they DO and WHY they ARE the way they are?
